The sun shone bright in the afternoon sky as in a bush near a jungle, layed a tigeress licking her cub. Soon a white lion with a slightly dark brown mane, came to the bush and poked his head in, being followed by his liger son who looked more like his mother than father.
"How is she? Mikia," the older male asked.
"She's fine Dekona, she should be waking up soon," the tigeress known as Mikia told the white lion.
"But I don't think she'll be happy to hear she's moving to your pride." Mikia sighed looking at her light cream coloured daughter, who had a tuff the same colour as her father.
"Zesaika, wake up sweetly," Mikia cooed, gently licking her daughter, the little liger looked up, yawned then streched.
"Yeah mum?" She asked sitting down smiling at her perants and older brother. Mikia looked at her daughter sadly, then sighed heavily.
"Zesaika, I'd like you to go with your father, back to his pride," Mikia told her daughter who looked at her dad. Zesaika then looked back at her other and smiled at her.
"I'll seeya later, Love you mum," The cub said, getting up and nuzzling her mother, for what she didn't know was the last time. After nuzzling her mum she walked over to her dad and followed him.
"So dad, what time am I going back?" Zesaika asked her dad who looked down at her sadly.
"Zesaika, I'm sorry but... you can't go back," Dekona told the young cub. Her ears instantly went back as her face became confused and sad.
"What do you mean?" She asked, trying to find some reason.
"Your mother and I, we made an agreement. That you were to come with me to my pride and take it over once I'm gone." He told her with a stricked face. The young cub shook her head and started to backaway from her father.
"No! I won't go!" She cired in distress, he went to take a step towards her and she darted to the right and started to run away.
"Zesaika! Come back here!" The white lion called to his daughter.
"I hate you!" She called back, trying to run faster than her little legs could carry her. Denkona stood still, shocked and emotionally distraught when he heard his daughter. 'I hate you!' her voice rung in his head as his mind analized every thing about the tone of voice she used. Before he knew it she was out of his sight. He tried to find her but to little avail.
"ZESAIKA!" He roared painfully, loosing his only daughter, his child that looked more like him.
~Zesaika's point of view~
"hey, wake up," A stange voice cooed in my ear. I opened my eyes and saw I was near a watering hole.
"Huh? Where am I?" I asked, raising my head.
"Your at a watering hole silly, my name's Matt, Matt the leopard, and who might you be?" Asked a golden coloured leopard next to me. I moved myself so I could sit up.
"I'm Zesaika the ligeress, daughter of king Denkona and Mikia the tigeress... isn't the name Matt a little strange?" I said to the leopard.
"So is being a liger and having a name like Zesaika, but hey, we can't pick and choose what we want." He told me.
"Anyway, I heard rumors of a king's daughter going missing from a neighbouring pride. What happened?" Matt asked me.
"I ran away... and I don't plan on going back." I growled slightly, getting up to walk away.
"And why would that be?" He said coming up beside me.
"My dad tried to take me away from my mum... just so he could have someone take over his stinking pride..." I growled and continued walking along. He continued to follow me.
"and how do you plan on taking care of yourself," He asked smartly.
"I'll find someway of coping, and will you stop follow me!" I snapped at him.
"A little cub like you, on your own wouldn't last a day," He said smuggly.
"I am part tiger you know, tigers ARE solitary creatures. Thus I can take good care of myself." I said going over to the water's edge to get a drink.
"And you are also a part lion, and a CUB meaning you need someone to help you right now." He said a little boastfully.
"oh and who do you think will help me without leading me back to my dad, HUH?" I snapped again.
"Your looking at him kid," He said grinning.
"Why'd you help me?" I asked a little confused as I looked up at him.
"Because I can and want to. I may not understand much about tigers or lions, but I do understand that right now you need someone." He told me. I hung my head a little and looked at my reflection.
"Where can we get some food?" I asked looking up at him.
"Follow me," He said softly, I got up and followed him to a herd of zebra.
"Stay here until I say to come over," He said indicating to a rock next to us. He then stalked off after a zebra and swiftly took it down. He looked around a couple of times then looked back over to me.
"Alright, you can come over now." he called to me and I swiftly padded over to him.
"Eat up," He said then started to dig-in himself, I started to eat myself and before I knew it, we had eaten the whole carcus. I followed him around as he showed me the lands he lived in.
"It's start to get late," I stated as the sun was painting the sky with reds, oranges and yellows. "Where do we sleep?" I asked him as he calm up beside me.
"I'll show you," He said, and once again I followed him. We came across an old tree that was knocked over and the inside hollow besides near the top. It was a large, old and dead acaicia tree which had ledge like areas which we could sleep on. During the night I woke up from a dream so I went over to matt and fell asleep next to him for the rest of the night.
